My name:
Paul
My job:
Store Manager
Who I work for:
Millets
A bit about my job:
My job is to ensure the store is profitable. We have to beat takings for last year, beat our target for this year and beat our budget as well. I have to do this while keeping within a strict payroll budget and not over spending on expenses.
How I got it / Qualifications needed
I went to school in Sudbury in Suffolk. I got O Levels{GCSE’s now) and A Levels and went to Sixth Form. When I left school I joined the army for a short while, I then worked at several firms and for the government, I also travelled the world and did lots of scary adventurous stuff. It was only in recent years that I have settled down in a steady job, however all the jobs I have had have relied on excellent customer service. My outdoor expertise has helped me with my job. My experience worldwide has allowed me to interact with anyone I meet.
What I earn:
£15,000 - £20,000
Anything else?
My favourite part of the job is meeting people with the same passion for the outdoors that I have and helping them get more out of it.My least favourite part of the job is disciplining, firing or making staff redundant, also paperwork and dealing with senior management if they really don’t know how to do their jobs.
