My name:

Rory Brown

My job:

Fitness Consultant

Who I work for:

Bodyworks at Lynnsport

A bit about my job:

Taking inductions for newcomers, including adults, children, and disabled/elderly people. Ensuring safety at the work place at all times, this includes clean machinery both free weights and CV, and ensuring that everything is in working order.

How I got it / Qualifications needed

I went to KES up to Year 11: my main interests, sport wise, were rugby and badminton. I got 1 A 2 B’s 5 C’s and 2 D’s in my GCSE’s. After Year 11 I left KES and went to Springwood High School where I studied art, drama, music tech and media. After a year I realised this wasn’t for me. I had been going to the gym towards the end of the last year and realised I wanted to take it a bit further.

I left school and got in contact with premier training, where intense courses could be completed in order to get your qualification faster. We covered everything within a two week period doing around 120 hours worth of work finishing with a written and a practical exam.

I am now working as a fitness consultant at Lynnsport gym with hopes to be a professional bodybuilder. I have my first competition in June next year.

What I earn:

Up to £10,000

Anything else?

Most favourite thing is definitely meeting new people and satisfying them through our services. Least favourite, there can be a lot of standing around at times.
