A bit about my job:

My job involves a number of different roles, I answer telephone calls to assist clients with their renewal quotes, I manage and motivate both the Renewals and Change of Vehicle departments, I distribute and delegate work to relevant team members and take on temporary Supervisor duties.

How I got it / Qualifications needed

I attended Downham Market High School and in 2001 left there with 11 GSCE’s A –C grade. Whilst I attended school I also had a part time job as a waitress in a local pub and worked there at weekends. After I finished school I decided to continue with my education and attended Downham Market Sixth Form College for a further 2 years. I took AVCE Business Studies and AVCE Child Development, which gave me the equivalent to 3 A-levels at grade C.

In October 2003 once I’d finished Sixth Form I started working at Adrian Flux as a Customer Service Clerk, after working in the Customer Service department for a few years I was given the opportunity to move to the Retained Business floor, where I continued as a clerk. I have now been working for the company nearly five years and have recently been promoted to Renewals & Change of Vehicle department manager and am really enjoying my new role.

I enjoy all aspects on my job, especially being able to help and motivate members of my team developing them to progress to the best of their ability.
For me, no day is the same; I have a variety of different jobs to complete: managing staff, issuing refunds to clients, taking and dealing with complaint calls, delegating work and taking incoming telephone calls myself, if and when we are busy. I’m enjoying my new role and the extra responsibility that comes with this.
